With an estimated fortune of $1.3 billion, Benson tied for 386th with 14 other billionaires. Bill Gates, co-founder of the Microsoft technology firm, a resident of Medina, Wash., and long ranked as one of the richest people in the world, topped the American list with $72 billion. Second was famous investor Warren Buffett of Nebraska with $58.5 billion, followed by Oracle technology company founder Larry Ellison of California with $41 billion. The Forbes accounting shows Benson’s wealth rising since its last listing in March, when it reported his fortune at $1.2 billion as part of a list of the wealthiest people in the world. His rank in the United States, however, dropped from 360th in 2012. “New Orleans sports mogul Tom Benson hopes to have the same success with the city’s NBA franchise that he’s had with the NFL’s New Orleans Saints, which he’s owned since 1985,” says the short Forbes profile of him . “He bought the Hornets basketball team in April 2012 for $338 million and subsequently changed the team’s name to the locally-flavored Pelicans.” Similar to its March profile of Benson , Forbes mentions his ownership of Fox television affiliate WVUE-Channel 8 , car dealerships, the Benson Tower , a 122-foot yacht, a 2,500-acre ranch in Texas and charitable efforts including the $20 million Tom and Gayle Benson Cancer Center at Ochsner Medical Center.

Hewitt said: “Over the last 18 years Keith [Barwell], and then Leon, have set a very high standard as to what it means to be chairman of Northampton. “Without their investment, vision and hard work, Saints would not be where we are. They are a hard act to follow.” Hewitt joined the club’s board of directors when the game turned professional in 1995, having worked in the commercial property market for 40 years. He became vice-chairman in 2011. We are now in the enviable position where we are matching playing success with consistent profitability Tony Hewitt “We are now in the enviable position where we are matching playing success with consistent profitability, and this stems from the foundations that the Barwells laid two decades ago,” said Hewitt. “It is important that we continue balancing the need to maintain that profitability, which enables us to invest in the playing squad and challenge for the silverware at the end of the season, with retaining the unique ethos that makes the Saints such a special club.

by Chris Pereira September 17, 2013 With Grand Theft Auto V launching today, Saints Row IV has received a new downloadable content pack with the not-at-all-coincidental name of GAT V. And for today only, the DLC can be had on Steam free of charge. The GAT V DLC includes Aisha’s outfit, Johnny Gat’s outfit and hair, a gatling knife thrower weapon (pictured below), and a heavy machine gun costume for the Thumpgun. Also out today is the Wild West DLC pack containing two western-themed outfits and an old west revolver. These releases come on the heels of the Presidential and Grass Roots packs ‘ launch late last month. Both new DLC packs cost $2.99 each and are available now on Xbox Jimmy Graham Authentic Jersey 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. The PC version of GAT V can be had for Lance Moore Youth Jersey free today, September 17. Thanks to the inclusion of Crackdown-like superhero powers, the latest releases in the Saints Row and GTA series have never been more different. However, they remain open-world action games competing for the same expendable income, and so any edge Saints Row IV can get against GTA V — which is expected to do tremendously well — is one you can expect publisher Deep Silver to take advantage of.

2013 NATIONAL BOOK AWARDS: ‘Boxers & Saints’ graphic novelist Gene Yang calls long-list honor ‘mind-blowing’

“We’ve had some character-building these first two games. I think to go into these games and have a chance to have some of the young guys [play], some of the news guys start to really kind of believe,” Strief said of the Saints, 26 of whom were not with the team during its last playoff season in 2011. Marc Serota/Getty Images Sean Payton and Rob Ryan made an immediate impact for the Saints this season. “With the guy that we have behind center, we’ve always got a shot,” Strief said of Brees. “And sometimes guys that haven’t played with somebody like that before, maybe that’s not a consistent feeling. But two games like this you start saying, ‘Boy, you know, this team can win.’ “We can win close games, and there are going to be a lot of them. There always is.” A lot of that feeling can be credited to Payton’s return from a season-long suspension. His mere presence instills a comfort level and even a familiar swagger that went missing last season, when the Saints missed the playoffs. Just as importantly, that same swagger has returned to the defense under new coordinator Rob Ryan — an aggressive, fiery coach who has clearly been embraced by his players.

Carr’s return to Saints keeps depth intact

Robinson, 26, has had a tough two-year stretch after a promising start to his career. The speedy 5-11, 191-pounder, who was drafted out of Florida State in 2010, emerged as a valuable nickel back and part-time starter in 2011. But like the rest of the embattled Saints defense in 2012, Robinson struggled mightily after becoming a full-time starter, letting too many deep balls get behind him. Robinson was then demoted back to a backup role after the Saints signed free agent Lewis this offseason. Then he suffered a summer knee injury that sidelined him for much of the preseason before suffering the latest setback.
